If you are planning to visit Hampton Court this January, then you have made the right choice when it comes to hotels. Hampton Court Palace has a whole host of events to attend. See our top list of things to do below.
Skate back in time this January and experience a final festive hurrah at the Hampton Court Palace ice rink. Lasting 45 minutes, you can skate on the ice and take in the spectacular views of the Thames-side Tudor palace. Whether you are a novice or an expert, feel more confident on the ice or off it, the rink is situated in front of the palace so you can take pleasure joining in or just watching.
Nothing gets you closer to history than a Ghost Tour. Family and adult tours are held monthly at the palace, but sadly the January tour dates have sold out. Be sure to book tickets for February dates as this is an extremely popular event. For adults, the tour lasts 1¾ to 2 hours and the family friendly version’s duration is 1¼ to 1½ hours. Learn more about the ghostly goings-on at the palace and hear stories such as the 2003 fire escape phantom, The Grey Lady and the many apparitions of Henry VIII’s wives. Attend if you dare.
If you are a frequent visitor, then you should consider becoming a member. Not only are you supporting the palace, but you are lucky enough to have access to exclusive member only tours. Hosted by a State Apartment Warder, new member tours will see visitors shown around the palace and grounds as they have all their questions answered about the ghosts and characters attached to the palace. If you’re a member from further afield, you’re always welcome to stay with us. We are known as the closest of all hotels- Hampton Court Palace visits shouldn’t be rushed!
A lunchtime lecture is a brilliant opportunity to hear from staff about their role and contribution to Hampton Court. January will see Lee Prosser talk about his role as Curator of Historic Buildings. Due to the popularity of this lecture, it has now sold out. You can attend another lecture in February with Susan Kay-Williams.
We’re sure you’ll have worked up an appetite after your activities around the palace; why not join us for a meal at one of the most popular restaurants Hampton Court has to offer? We’re delighted to share that we have a special offer on dining in January that will see you receive 25% off food and drink.
