Impressionists on the Thames:

The River Thames was a popular subject for several of the impressionists.  Alfred Sisley in particular, painted on the Thames at Hampton Court, including this view looking along Hampton Court Bridge (an earlier bridge) with the Mitre Hotel (as the building was then) in the background.

With all of this history, join me, to create your own version of the Thames at Hampton Court.

The Courses:

During these courses, Melanie will be demonstrating each stage and offering lots of help and advice as you paint, so if you are new to acrylics or have only limited experience, you can feel confident of being able to achieve your very best.

Day One – in the morning, enjoy a demonstration by Melanie before painting a view of the sunken Pond Garden at Hampton Court. Using sketches and photos for reference.

Day Two – Using sketches and photos for reference, we shall be painting a view of the current Hampton Court Bridge, taking inspiration from Alfred Sisley.

All materials and equipment are included. Acrylic paint dries quickly to enable you to take home your paintings at the end of the day.

You're sure of a Mitre surprise!

This month treat your little ones to a wonderful Teddy Bear's picnic; full of scrumptious goodies, a cuddly toy, and tickets to explore Hampton Court's magical secret garden.
