Spending a Day on the Thames
Thanks to our prestigious location, we’re known as one of the most inviting and convenient hotels along the River Thames.
In this blog, we will share how to go about spending a day on the river.
It has never been easier to go on a cruise of the Thames; guests can cross the road and be collected by boat from Hampton Court Palace’s Turks Pier. Offering morning and afternoon* rides (subject to change) you can enjoy a boat ride from 10:30am to 17:30pm. Boats run throughout the year until the beginning of October – they only close for winter.
The following routes are available:
Kingston – Hampton Court = 35 minutes each way
Kingston – Richmond = 1 hour each way
Richmond – Hampton Court = 1 hour 45 minutes each way
You can find out more about the River Thames cruises here, tickets can be purchased on the day you travel.
On Dry Land
Should you wish to hop off the boat, there are many sites to see along the Thames. Depending on where you alight and whether you opt to do multiple boat trips, you can explore exciting sights including the Wetland Centre, Westminster, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Battersea Power Station and much more.
When it comes to River Thames accommodation, you won’t find better rooms, dining or service than what is on offer at The Mitre Hotel Hampton Court. Don’t forget – if you don’t want to climb aboard a boat, you can always dine with panoramic views of the river and take in its beauty at your own pace on our terrace.
