Don’t be at a loss for things to do in Surrey during your stay – here are our top picks for everything going on nearby during half term and Halloween.
Just 25 minutes away in the car, Bocketts Farm is a great spot to visit with the kids this half term. Boasting tractor trailer fun, pony rides, pig racing and interaction with many farm animals, you can all learn more about rearing livestock before bouncing off to the trampolines, slides and play barns. Beautiful during the autumntime, you can see how animals are looked after throughout the seasons. Under 2s are free, adults cost £11, 2 year olds are £9.40 and 3 to 12 year olds cost £11.50.
Beautiful whatever the season, go for a stroll this autumn around Virginia Water Lake and experience stunning countryside and enthralling gardens. Less than half an hour away by car, you can discover a towering 100-foot totem pole, shimmering lake, sweeping views, scurrying wildlife and some other wonderful spots to take time out. The changing colours and impressive landscape won’t fail to impress your family – whether you decide to walk, run, cycle or skate around.
No photography or recording is allowed – the spirits don’t like it! Our neighbour Hampton Court Palace will be opening up its courtyards and cloisters to reveal some secrets of the palace this Halloween. Hear all about spooky apparitions and paranormal activity, but only if you dare! Attendees must be over 8 years old. History, heritage, kings, queens and spirits will all be mentioned, and each tour lasts around 2 hours. The family tour on 31st October takes place at 6.30pm, adults only at 7.15pm and the late-night Halloween special for adults starts at 10.30pm. Ticket prices vary.
“Legend has it that when Skywalk was built, an ancient burial site was disturbed and the haunted will be returning to wreak havoc over Halloween…” Brave the skies this Halloween, or from the 25th to 31st October to be exact, and your family can explore a special spooky course. With two courses on offer and some very fun scary additions, you can test your agility and head for heights in some spooky theming. Only £15 per child and £20 per adult to tackle both courses. Just 8 minutes from our hotel by car.
