Frequently Asked Questions

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in time is from 4pm and check-out time is 11am.

On your day of departure please vacate your room on time and settle your extras account at reception. If you want to stay a bit later, please ask at reception (subject to availability) and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Is there a car park on-site?
Limited parking is available at the hotel (charges apply). There is also plenty of local public car-parking available within a 10-minute walk of the hotel (charges apply).

We have reserved 10 spaces for the Hotel at Hampton Court Railway Station (a 5-minute walk across the bridge from the hotel) – charges apply. There is also a large public car park a 7-minute walk away at The Greens Car Park (charges apply)

Is there a dress code at the Hotel or in the Restaurants?
We do not have a strict dress code and are informal in style. When dining in our brasserie 1665, many guests choose to dress up a bit, but we will leave that up to you. Our wine bar and café, Coppernose is casual.

How far are you from Hampton Court Palace?
Remarkably close, as we are right opposite the main entrance to Hampton Court Palace. A leisurely 1-minute walk away.

Can I buy Hampton Court Palace tickets at the Hotel?

Do we accept dogs?
Well behaved dogs over the age of one are very welcome at The Mitre.

We have several dog friendly rooms on the ground floor with outside terrace access. There is a £20 per night charge per dog. A maximum of 2 dogs per room. We provide a dog welcome pack on arrival. No dogs can be left in the room unattended.

You can dine with your dog in the Coppernose restaurant for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner as well as the outside terrace when the weather is fine. We do not allow dogs in the Orangery or Signet 1665 Brasserie.

Can we hire a boat on the River Thames?
Yes, we can arrange the hire of several private launches that we work with on a bespoke basis. Please contact us for more information or to arrange your boat experience.

Alternatively, if you just want to enjoy a couple of gentle hours meandering down the river in a rowboat we can recommend you rent one opposite the hotel.

Can we moor a boat atThe Mitre?

Unfortunately not, as our deck is for exclusive use for our boats. If you have a booking with us, you can certainly be dropped or picked up, but no mooring over 5 minutes are allowed. 

Do you have Electric Car Charging Points?
We have two charging points. These are available on a first come first serve basis.

Can I get Married at The Mitre Hotel?
We would be delighted to look after your wedding ceremony and reception (for up to 70 sit-down for the wedding breakfast and reception in the Orangery and a further 50 can join you for the evening-do). You can also take the hotel over exclusively.
